Handle With Care (HWC) is a trauma-informed practice that focuses on creating a support system at school after a child has been exposed to violence and/or trauma. Davenport Police Department, Bettendorf Police Department, and the Scott County Sheriff’s Department work together to notify school districts in Scott County when children have been exposed to trauma or violence. This allows for school staff to handle them with care the following school day.
