Who is the program for?
Nest is open to women who are currently pregnant, live in Scott County, and are receiving prenatal care in Scott County. In addition, you’ll need to meet ONE of the following requirements
- Under 20 or over 35 years old
- Pregnancy weight gain above or below normal
- Past low birth weight or prematurity
- Past miscarriage or stillbirth
- Current use of tobacco, alcohol, or illicit drugs
- Limited income
- Other medical condition that may complicate pregnancy
How does it work?
Once enrolled, you earn rewards points when you receive prenatal care, attend education classes, and use community resources. Then, you can exchange these rewards points for items you will need of your baby.
Scott County Kids’ Nest is administered by Genesis VNA and Hospice. If you qualify for the program, ask your health care provider to fill out a referral form and bring it to the Scott County Kids’ Nest on Mondays between 2:45 – 4 p.m. The program is located at the YMCA, 606 West Second Street, Davenport, IA. We’ll also ask you to fill out a brief survey to complete enrollment. You will immediately receive a book to track the progress of your pregnancy.
