Bright Beginnings is a free and confidential one-on-one program to support you throughout your pregnancy and help establish successful parenting techniques.

We can help you with:

  • Prenatal care education
  • Growth and development education
  • Baby proofing your home
  • Parental support
  • Basic infant education
  • Child development activities
  • Effective discipline

  • Promoting self-reliance

Who is the program for?

Bright Beginnings is open to Scott County residents who are pregnant or have a child under the age of 6. The program is offered to families with risk factors, while Universal Assessment and Health Promotion Visits are open to everyone. To see if you qualify for Bright Beginnings, please contact Tera Weets at Genesis Health Systems.

How does it work?

You will be paired with a family support worker, who will meet with you in your home to discuss your family’s needs and strengths. We will be there to encourage and support you through your pregnancy and the first 5 years of your child’s life.

In addition to education, we also provide information and referrals for:

  • Physicians for you and your baby
  • Home maintenance
  • Housing
  • Food pantry
