I support this Project Charter because I feel there is a great need for our kids in Scott County with regards to mental health services. I believe the cuts in budgets have made a difficult situation even more difficult. The family unit itself looks much different therefore we as a community need to help reach those children in need and guide them to appropriate resources, services and supports. .

I support this Charter because it draws attention to a complex community issue, describes a comprehensive cross-sector approach, and clearly engages the people who are served by mental health systems as key stakeholders.

Family Resources supports the Project Charter as it views children in the context of a family. The SOC wraps services around children's individual needs and builds on the child and family's natural strengths with respect to diversity. The SOC helps us coordinate community resources and respond in a timely, efficient and effective manner with the right amount of assistance at the right time. The SOC is preventative and trauma informed. All children deserve to grow up in a SAFE community.

It only makes sense that if we as a community expect our youth to grow into healthy, educated, contributing members of our society then we have to step up and ensure that the physical and mental health needs of our kids are a top priority. The Project Charter through Scott County Kids offers a format to ensure these needs are met so that our children can thrive.

I support this Project Charter because I feel we need to increase our care for the children in Scott County. As OT that worked on the adolescent psychiatric unit, I was deeply saddened to learn the unit was closing. Financial limitations do not make the need for services disappear. This project is wonderful and brings a sense of hope back to the community for our families.

I support this Project Charter because there is a great need for a cohesive and organized delivery of mental health information and care for children in Scott County. Working with at-risk children and families has made me acutely aware of the mental health gaps and delays in service. As a caring community, we need to address mental health challenges early in life.
